Trattoria da Me Bologna – Worth it? Menu, prices and my review
Trattoria Da Me restaurant in Bologna looks like a bridge between an old, traditional land of comfort and a new island still to explore.
Read my review and stay light for lunch, you need to leave space until dessert.
The old sign of Trattoria Da Me in Via San Felice
Eat at my place, like old times
Under the portico of Via San Felice, you find an old light sign saying "TRATTORIA".
Trattoria Da Danio opened in 1937: cheap prices, old photos on the walls and ragù slowly boiling for 12 hours.
Now, Danio's granddaughter, Elisa Rusconi, wears the cooking apron.
When Elisa took over, she didn’t just change the sign outside.
She inherited her family’s recipes but also their courage to evolve. After winning the Italian TV show “4 Ristoranti” by Alessandro Borghese, her name spread beyond the city walls, turning Trattoria Da Me into a symbol of contemporary Bolognese cuisine.
To keep her roots alive, Elisa opened a pasta laboratory next to the original restaurant, where locals can buy the same tagliatelle, tortelloni, and lasagne sheets that feed both of her kitchens.
Elisa’s project is a family affair: her sister Micaela and sommelier Rossana Pellegrini complete the team, creating an atmosphere that feels both familiar and ambitious.
In 2024, they also opened a second location inside the Torre Galluzzi tower. So if you're looking for a romantic restaurant in Bologna, they've got you covered!
How's the food at Trattoria Da Me
At Da Me, Elisa loves to play with texture and memory.
Start with a mix of cured meat and cheese served with fried crescentine, hard to find inside the Bologna city walls.
Or go straight to the pasta: order their homemade tagliatelle al ragù or lasagne alla Bolognese (but only on Sunday lunch, like in the past).
Want to escape from tradition?
Beyond the classics, you’ll find dishes that blend comfort and creativity: tagliolini with friggione and squacquerone cheese, or my favorite: tortelloni with gorgonzola cheese, figs, and hazelnuts.

Why eat at Trattoria Da Me
There aren't many places where you can close your eyes, pick a dish on the menu, and be sure that what you'll get will satisfy you completely.
Trattoria Da Me is one of them.
Are you looking for pure Bolognese tradition?
Are you a vegetarian (like the chef)?
Or would you like to learn new combinations of flavors?
In each case, you're in good hands, trust me.
Why don't
The popularity of Trattoria Da Me is huge.
It won a TV show contest in 2017, it appears in many food guides and everybody in Bologna knows it.
Is that bad?
Not at all.
But you pay the price of their success if you try to book last minute. Or if you're looking for an intimate and romantic restaurant in Bologna.
And if you have a limited budget, you can find cheaper alternatives.
Mascarpone, save space for dessert

Mains and desserts keep it generous.
Budget around €35–50 per person without going wild on wine.

How to book
You can book directly from the official website trattoriadame.it or by calling +39 051 555486.
Reservations are managed online and a credit card is required to confirm your booking. This helps them prevent fake reservations and last-minute cancellations, which — given their popularity — happen often.
No-show policy: if you don’t show up or arrive too late, you might lose your table and be charged according to their terms.
If you have a flight or train to catch, book an earlier slot and call them if you’re running late. Better to reschedule than to no-show.
For weekends and holidays, book at least a few days in advance.
The Torre Galluzzi location is smaller and tends to fill up quickly.
